Looking for storage space for long or short term rental? You have come to the right place! We will advise you how to do it step by step.
Self-storage is the perfect place to store items, furniture, or sporting equipment that you don’t need right now. You can use it for a short period, e.g. a few weeks or few months for seasonal storage of items, or for the long term. And it’s not only the households who use self-storage services, but they are also often used by companies, for storing goods, accounting documents, tools, or furnishings.
Both booking and operating a self-storage unit at Storage Port are really easy. To make the whole process even easier and help you avoid potential problems, we have prepared a clear guide on how to book a self-storage unit.
Storage space for a company or and individual consumer?
First of all, when booking a storage unit, you need to choose whether you are booking the storage space for an individual’s/ household’s personal use or whether you want to rent the storage space for a company. This option can be found in the top bar of our website. Before proceeding with the booking, select one of the options “Household” or “Business”. The difference between renting a storage unit for households and companies is that when booking for companies you can opt for a VAT deduction. Some types of storage units may also only be available for businesses.
A storage unit to suit your needs
To book a self-storage unit for business or personal use, click on the “Book” option in the top right corner. Choose the dates for which you want to rent the storage unit. The minimum possible rental period is 14 days. Then select the desired size of the unit – we currently have storage units available in sizes from 1.5m2 to 14m2. You can see detailed information about the different sizes of “Storage Unit” section on our website.
Choose your rental conditions and special services
In the next step, you can choose a basic lock, which is free for rentals longer than 60 days, or an Extra lock with higher security for an additional fee. You can also rent a metal rack for boxes, bins, or other small items.
In the rates section, you have the option to choose between Flexi and Fix rentals. The Flexi lease offers flexible terms, regular monthly payment, and the option to end the lease at any time (with 2 weeks’ notice). The Fix option is a lease for a fixed term (chosen by the customer) with no early termination option and the full amount of the rent is paid in advance.
To complete the booking, enter your contact details and select the payment option. Once the reservation is paid, you will receive a rental number for the storage unit you are renting. You can also read more about the booking details in How it works on our website.
The booking is done, how does self-storage work?
At least 24 hours before the start of the rental, we will send you a PIN code and the number of your storage unit in the form of a text message.
The Storage Port is located in Bratislava at Ivanská cesta 26, and is open daily from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm. When transporting larger items, you can use the cargo gate and trolleys, which can be found at the entrance to the warehouse.
The Storage Port warehouse is located in two blocks marked A1 and B1. You will find the location of your self-storage unit in your confirmation email and SMS. The latter also contains the storage unit number. Finding your unit will be very easy, all units are marked with numbers. After opening the entrance to the building using the PIN code, you will find the lock you purchased during unit booking inside your storage unite ready for use for locking your unit’s door.
You can enter your warehouse every day during the rental period from 6:00 to 22:00 without restriction. The entrance to the building is electronically secured and properly illuminated. The entire facility is protected by cameras and 24-hour security guards, only you have access to your warehouse.

End of rental period
24 hours before the scheduled end of your lease, you will receive an email from us notifying you of the end date of the rental and a link to check out online. On the day of termination, please remove all your belongings from the storage unit and leave it unlocked. You may take the lock you purchased from Storage Port to use it on a future rental. After you have cleaned out all of your belongings from the storage unit, confirm your check-out using the link you received in the email.
With the Flexi rate service, the rental period is extended automatically and can be terminated by email at least 14 days before the desired end date. For details on check-out and rental termination, please see the “How it works” section on our website.
